Two Films from Hemlock Screening at 1st Bessie Coleman Film Festival

Two of Kara White's documentary films have been selected for screening at the Bessie Coleman Aviation Film Festival. Both written and directed by Kara White, Beyond the Powder and Rise Above: WASP will be shown at the festival.

Beyond the Powder, produced in 2014, is the story of the first women's cross coutry air race, and also about those who run this race today. The award winning film has screened contiuously on national PBS for over 12 years, and will contiue on for more.

Rise Above: WASP, produced for the Commemorative Air Force, is the story of the 1st women to fly for the Uited States military, the Women Airforce Service Pilots, know as the WASP.

This is the inaugural season of the Queen Bess Centenial Aviation Film Festival. Held at Bult Field outside of Chicago, the free festival will be Saturday May 2nd. For more information, please visit:
