Filmed in 2002, the original documentary The Restorers is a one-hour collection of eight stories about warbird restoration folks, and was the inspiration of the new series. The film has shown worldwide on PBS and Discovery Wings Europe.  In 2004, the film won an Emmy award and continues to air on PBS today.

 

In 2002, we put together the greatest aviation film we could.  Time and technology rolled ahead, and our film was showing her age.  In 2013, digital technology and an HD transfer of the original film negative brought The Restorers back to her intended glory!
